Green cycle carrier is compostable after use

Designers Antoine Fritsch and Vivien Durisotti have created the Tricarrier, using natural materials.

The product has been designed to carry up to two young children, as well as shopping and equipment, over short journeys.

The Tricarrier has been made with glue-laminated bamboo, while the ‘cradle’ is made of a combination of natural rattan and a stainless steel framework (there are more pics at the bottom of the story).

When the product reaches its end of life, the natural materials are transformed into compost and metals are recycled.

The design is a prototype from the design duo, who are based in Western Paris. The Tricarrier will be on show at a contemporary furniture fair at Superstudio Più in Milan on the firm’s ‘Natural fibre meets design’ stand.

A statement from the firm said: “Through research work, Antoine Fritsch and Vivien Durisotti designed this innovative object as an experiment and in order to bring their personal contribution to the reflection on the matter of non-polluting means of transport. The idea of looking ahead in the world of tomorrow and offering concrete alternatives participates in the comprehensive approach the two designers have regarding their line of business.”
