Future launches triathlon mag

Future has announced the launch of Triathlon Plus, a new monthly magazine aimed at participants in the UK’s fastest growing sport.

The publication will go on sale on April 7th and joins Future’s portfolio of cycling titles which includes Cycling Plus, Procycling, What Mountain Bike, Mountain Biking UK, Bike Radar and Cycling News.

The 148-page magazine will be produced in Future’s Bath office and will be edited by Future veteran and consultant editor Mat Brett. Formerly editor of Mounting Biking UK and Cycling Plus, he is a keen triathlete himself.

"We are a world leader in cycling publishing on and offline with fantastic products that reach and engage millions of cycling enthusiasts," said Katherine Raderecht, group publisher for Future’s sports portfolio.

"It’s a natural step for us to look at extending the editorial strengths we have in cycling into areas where we see a market opportunity, such as triathlon."

Simon Wear, Future’s chief operating officer added: "The triathlon market has been growing at an incredible rate over the past few years. We believe there is now a real appetite among both consumers and the industry for a magazine that provides hig end design and editorial content, and our track record in cycling gives us the credentials to do this."
