Former general manager takes over at SDG

Bicycle saddle manufacturer SDG USA’s bicycle division has been purchased by its former general manager, Tyler Anspach.

After eight years working for SDG, Anspach has worked his way up through the ranks and has now taken over ownership of the brand forming SDG Components LLC based in Huntington Beach, CA.

“I’m really looking forward to building upon the brand’s foundation, 14 years in the marketplace,” Anspach said. “We have solid, long-term relationships with all our suppliers, distributors, teams and athletes, all who will be active in the product development realm as well.”

SDG is renowned for developing the first Kevlar-covered saddle in the early ‘90s and also its latest innovation, the I-Beam has challenged traditional saddle to post integration.

Silverfish UK will continue to distribute SDG Components in the UK and marketing manager Pete Drew added: “Tyler has long been the driving force behind the SDG saddle brand and it is great to see him taking over at the helm. We are confident that he will take the brand to new levels of quality and performance. This purchase will not affect saddles and post currently in the market place or ones which are on order with us”.
