Exposure Lights is providing front and rear lights to enable six cyclists to ride through the night on a 24-hour bike ride. The "Reach for the Skye" ride starts tomorrow morning, and will see the riders leave Newcastle in an attempt to reach the island of Skye, a distance of 410 miles.
The riders are expected to burn 16,000 calories each, and drink 15 litres of fluid. The youngest rider is eighteen-year-old Josh, son of Carlton Reid, executive editor of BikeBiz – he is raising money for African charity Qhubeka.
Reach for the Skye is also supported by local bike shops Kirkley Cycles of Northumberland and Start Cycles of Newcastle.
