Evans/Topman partnership stirs cycle interest

As proof of how well a neat window display can draw customer interest look no further than Topshop on Oxford Street, London.

Evans Cycles has supplied the store with a handful of shiny singlespeed bikes in the hope of drumming up cycle sales from the stores popularity.

Originally planned to be in the window for the first week of January, the display was so well received by shoppers it stayed in this premium location for another week.

“The window has been a massive success, so much so we are moving it on to our instore display until the end of the month. “Explained Lyndon Garbutt, Topman Senior Creative Supervisor “We even have customers asking if the bikes are sold here and our teams have been directing them to Evans Cycles.”

Three models are dressed to impress on a LeMond Filmore, Charge Plug Racer and Felt Despatch. The bikes and display further highlights the popularity fixed and single speed bikes across all demographics. It also reinforces the view that bikes are no longer for ‘cyclists’. Bikes are fashionable, accessible and fun.

“We’ve been inundated with queries from shoppers about the display they have seen in Topman. As our store is just two minute walk from their Oxford Street branch,” Said Adrian Hendrick, manager of Evans Cycles West End branch on Rathbone Place. “People really love the bikes because they are effortlessly simple. They ooze cool and the idea that you can just jump on and speed across town to meet up with friends."

Evans Cycles stocks a range of single speed and fixed wheeled bikes starting from £300.
