Duncan McCann – formerly of MMA, Moore Large, Bike Force and Acorn – still contributes to the BikeBiz.com bulletin board but he now works for Cy-nap Ltd of Leeds, a PC-to-SMS company with two services, easypctext.co.uk and txttools.co.uk.
Txttools is for corporate clients, universities and health practices. It’s easypctext that McCann believes would be best for bike shops.
Users sign up via PayPal and get a monthly quota of text credits. £5.99 buys you 50 texts a month. £20.99 gets you 240 texts a month.
Unlike some of the free PC-to-SMS services, easypctext does not append marketing messages to the texts.
Replies go to a cellphone’s inbox of your choice and appear to be sent from this number, too. Unused texts are rolled over to the following month.
