According to the Belfast Telegraph, French sports chain Decathlon has taken its first step into Northern Ireland with the opening of a new store in Belfast.
The new store is set to create 60 jobs and will be set on a 40,000 sq ft space on a retail park (Holywood Exchange) near to the city.
The retail giant has over 400 stores globally, but only a handful in the UK. Two years ago the firm was reportedly planning to create up to 40 stores in Great Britain over five years.
Decathlon UK expansion manager Babar Ahmad said: “Decathlon is very pleased to have signed up for Holywood Exchange, Belfast.”
