The benefits of cycle tourism are to be investigated in a study commissioned by the European Parliament.
The economic potential of cycle tourism will be gauged by a widespread survey, according to this report from BikeRadar.
The probe asks for views on the EuroVelo touring route system, among other more general areas.
EuroVelo, a project proposed by the European Cyclists Federation, has asked the EU for cash to develop 12 long-distance cycle routes across Europe, covering 60,000km. The Federation has asked for 300,000 Euros from Brussels, to continue creating the routes.
