The Cycle Show at the Birmingham NEC has opened to the trade and the press; tomorrow is the first public day. The show is being staged in halls 10, 11 and 12. The show organisers told BikeBiz that a third more space has been sold this year compared to last.
New exhibitors include Silverfish, Paligap, and Vitus from Chain Reaction Cycles. Halfords is at the show with Boardman bikes and its new brand, 13.

The photo at the top of the article is of Michael and Linzi Bonney. Michael fell from his bike during a sportive in March 2013, landing on his spine – he smashed his C3 vertebrae, severing his spinal chord. The former lynchpin of Orange was mobbed at the show. He’s planning on getting back into the bike industry. "There aren’t enough disabled people in this industry," he said.
