Cycle Republic will sponsor top tier racing team Morvelo Basso for ’18

Described as a team that combines British racing passion with Italian design, Morvelo Basso will welcome Cycle Republic as the ‘official retail partner’ for the 2018 season. The retailer will join a host of other prestigious sponsors including Morvelo Bicycle Apparel, Basso Bikes, Fabric, Veltec Wheels and OTE Nutrition.

Following on from a successful 2017 season, Morvelo Basso has added more strength to its rider roster in preparation of its busy 2018 race calendar. The team will compete in a number of domestic road races including National B’s, the Tour Series and selected Premiers.

Commenting on the recent partnership announcement, Adam Moore stated: “It’s a very tough industry right now and getting the support needed, even to operate at our level, is very hard. We have managed to secure some brilliant sponsors who believe in what we do, and I thank them all for committing to help team next year!”

To celebrate the unveiling of the 2018 Morvelo Basso rider roster, Cycle Republic welcomed customers and stakeholders to the official team launch event. Hosted at the Fenchurch Street store, representatives from Basso Bikes and Morvelo Clothing outlined partnership plans for the upcoming race season. In addition, the entire Morvelo Basso 2018 rider roster was introduced to spectators, which included elite level riders Stephen Bradbury, Mikey Mottram and Ben Marks.

Cycle Republic brand manager Charlie Foulkes commented: “We’re delighted to be supporting Morvelo Basso for this year’s race season. As the exclusive UK retailer for Basso Bikes, it’s a perfect fit. We look forward to seeing the success of the team throughout the season.”

In addition to the outlined partnership plans, the event showcased the team’s new Morvelo Basso race jersey, designed and manufactured by British cycle apparel company Morvelo. Oli Pepper, Morvelo co-founder, teased of an on-going collaboration with Cycle Republic, stocking a range of clothing online and in selected stores. More information on the agreement is set to be announced in the coming weeks.
