Cycle Republic backs £1 million charity ride

Cycle Republic is the ‘official mechanical partner’ for the 2018 Dallaglio Cycle Slam, which is seeking to raise £1 million for charity.

Cycle slam is an 18-day, 1800km cycle challenge which sees 300 riders embark on a riding from the French and Swiss Alps, through the Italian lakes passing into Slovenia and finishing in Croatia.

Cycle Republic is providing mechanical support, with a crew of qualified bike mechanics for the event, ensuring riders receive on-route support throughout the entire challenge. The retailer also supported the event in 2016, adding to its increasingly broad events portfolio, which includes Velo Birmingham, Pedal Scotland, Palace to Palace and the Night Rider series.

Commenting on the event, Cycle Republic managing director Peter Kimberley stated: “It is a privilege to be supporting this event, the mechanical team did a fantastic job in 2016 and it is great to be part of a charity that is making a real impact in changing young people’s lives.”

The riders are currently on stage three and as they approach their third and final week of riding, they’ve already raised over £755k. The event finishes on the 14th June where they hope to raise £1 million. If anyone wishes to discover more about the event or donate visit www.dallagliocycleslam.com
