Malcolm Davies, Trek’s director of international subsiduaries, told bikebiz.co.uk this morning that despite the interest in taking on board the likes of Raleigh and Derby’s other brands, Trek decided not to see its bid through.
"We want to focus our energies on our existing businesses," he said.
Bids have to be received by Derby’s lawyers in New York by tomorrow. The successful bidder will be revealed by about 5pm this Friday, just in time for the start of Interbike.
