Continental has introduced a new high-load belt drive system that’ll handle specialist applications such as e-cargo bikes.
Utilising a premium 12mm carbon belt, paired with a new 12mm aluminium/steel sprocket, the added width will offer up advantages for anyone building bikes that require just that little bit extra pull to get moving.
Continental say: "This means that the advantages of a Continental belt are transferred to the cargo bicycle segment, the target group for which places special demands on commercial vehicles. In particular, the easy and maintenance-free handling and higher service life contribute to better everyday suitability, and thus to an upgrading of cargo bicycles."
Additionally, the firm has introduced a new premium CDS carbon 8mm belt to be used by e-bike or bikes where specialist transmission is required.
