Wiggle has teamed up with CSC to auction a genuine CSC yellow jersey signed by 2008 Tour de France winner Carlos Sastre. Proceeds from the sale will go to the National Deaf Children’s Society.
The ten-day-long auction is due to start on eBay today (April 15th) and is already generating huge interest from cycling fans worldwide.
Wiggle’s Paul Bolwell said: “We’re very excited to have such a terrific piece of cycling history up for grabs. The yellow jersey is the ultimate icon of the cycling world so we really hope it raises a lot of money for an extremely worthwhile cause.”
All funds raised will go towards a multi-sports day that NDCS will be running for deaf children and young people in Walsall, West Midlands, on October 10th.
Sastre added: “I am very proud to help the National Deaf Children’s Society to raise awareness of the obstacles that deaf children face at school and in their every day life. Every deaf child has the right to be fully included and valued by society.”
