Biketart wins trip to California with 2pure

Canterbury cycle retailer Bike Tart has won a 2pure and Crankbrothers competition to win a trip to California.

Launched last year, the competition was to reward 2pure’s top-performing dealer across Crankbrothers and Ibis with a trip to visit the brands in California.

Biketart’s Adam Westwood was the top UK seller of both Ibis and Crankbrothers in 2011. The trip of a lifetime will take him to Crankbrothers HQ in Laguna Beach CA, where he’ll peruse the design offices before heading off on a trail ride with Hans Rey and the founders of Crankbrothers, Carl and Frank.

Westwood will then move on to visit Ibis in Santa Cruz with Scot ‘Chuck Ibis’ Nicol as his personal tour guide. His visit to Ibis will also include a ride with Brian Lopes and some beers and Mexican food, 2pure adds.

"We came up with this competition to incentivise our dealers across Ibis and Crankbrothers," explained 2pure managing director George Bowie. "It is no coincidence that it has been won by somebody who has made a strong commitment to selling and marketing these brands to their customers. I would like to thank Adam for his commitment and all of our dealers who helped us grow our like-for-like sales by 24 per cent during 2011."

Biketart owner Adam Westwood enthused: "We’re absolutely thrilled to be recognised as the biggest independent Ibis dealer in the country. We’ve been great fans of Ibis since we started and are very enthusiastic about the brand to customers. I’ve been riding the Mojo HD myself for the past two seasons and I still believe it is the best bike of its type. We’ve run many Ibis demo rides and feedback from customers has been exceptional. The new Mojo SLR is already proving popular and we’re looking forward to the Ripley 29er arriving later this year."
