BikeFest returns to London Green Fair this June

The annual free London Green Fair is back in Regent’s Park this June, featuring BikeFest, a festival of all things bike.

This year BikeFest goes electric, providing festival-goers with the opportunity to test ride and find out about electric bikes. There will also be cycle maintenance workshops, free safety checks and minor repairs – along with music-powered cycling.

Now in its 20th year, the festival is expecting to attract over 20,000 people over June 9th and 10th.

Working in association with BEBA (British Electric Bike Association) and featuring a host of electric bike manufacturers, the fair includes a test-cycle circuit spanning half the length of Chester Road.

The BikeFest will also showcase regular features including an information stall about cycling in London provided by London Cycling Campaign, with free bike maps. Dr Bike wil offer free safety checks and minor repairs, while BikeFest will also feature cycle maintenance workshops and, hopefully, a cycle-powered music show provided by www.re-cycle.org, though the latter is still to be confirmed.

The environmental festival first started as a small gathering of focused activists held in the railways arches at King’s Cross in the late ’80s and now attracts tens of thousands of people.
