Big BMX launches into the UK

The makers of Big BMX – arriving in the UK next month – have cut back on ‘unnecessary components’ to produce what it calls a highly affordable, yet high quality bike.

According to the manufacturer, the single speed rigid bike – a suspension free model – has avoided using budget gearing and unreliable suspension components. By sticking to the bare minimum fundamentals, the firm said it has shaved pounds off the price, increased the longevity of the bike and ensured a great riding experience for the user.

The first 100 of the Big BMX models will be available at the end of April.

Big BMX Founder, Carl Tatum, enthused: “The Big BMX is extremely versatile. The short seat tube and long seat post allow it to be ridden comfortably and safely by both adults and children.”

Tatum revealed that the bike was inspired by reports of consumers bring put off cycling after purchasing bikes with poor quality components and experiencing unsatisfactory rides. He said the Big BMX instead uses the minimum bicycle fundamentals, appealing to novice cyclists as well as enthusiasts.

The Big BMX founder stressed that the bike’s relative low cost was due to it using the minimum cycle fundamentals: “I’m quite keen to point out that this bike should not be confused with a BSO. I’m worried that because of the low purchase price that it will be mistaken for ‘cheap rubbish’, although in reality it is only so affordable because it has far fewer components than other adult bikes, with no gears or suspension.”
