1,000,000 sq metre complex will be located in central Europe

X-Bionic is backing a new sports resort

The trend for setting up multi-activity sports centres continues, with the X-Bionic Sphere the latest sports hub to be announced. Launching in the middle of Europe, the 1,000,000 sq metre complex is aimed at pro athletes, sports enthusiasts and sports scientists.

In the Vienna and Bratislava vicinity, X-Bionic Sphere will offer state of the art facilities for 27 Olympic sport disciplines. X-Bionic founder Professor Bodo Lambertz and Slokakian investor Mario Hoffman have joined forces to create the resort, which is expected to open in February 2016.

Shimano Europe announced it was setting up a multi-activity centre earlier this year. Decathlon owner Oxylane has also used the concept for its ‘Villages’, which it had hoped to bring to the UK
