World’s Fastest Women Compete at La Course by Le Tour

Since its first edition in 2014, La Course by Le Tour is one of the most prestigious races on the Women’s calendar. For the third edition, La Course by Le Tour is now part of the new Women’s WorldTour.

13 laps (89km) of the famous brick and paved circuit will challenge both the racers’ stamina and technical skills. The course travels towards the Arc de Triomphe, down the Champs-Élysées, round Les Tuileries and the Louvre and across the Place de la Concorde back to the Champs-Élysées. It’s a favourite circuit for both riders and fans alike as it offers numerous opportunities for attacks.

Among the 21 selected squads of six riders, three teams will be riding SRAM RED and SRAM RED eTap: CANYON//SRAM Racing, Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team and Cylance Pro Cycling.

“It’s always nice to race in La Course, on the course where the men finish the Tour de France, all the media is present and the women get the attention that they deserve,” said Danny Stam, manager of the Boels-Dolmans cycling team.

Riders to watch include Giro Rosa and US National Champ Megan Guarnier as well as her fellow Boels-Dolmans teammates, world champ Lizzie Armitstead and hour record holder Evelyn Stevens. Other riders to watch include British National champ Hannah Barnes and 2014 ITT world champion Lisa Brennauer of CANYON//SRAM Racing. Be sure to also keep an eye on Spanish phenom Sheyla Gutierrez and breakaway artist Alison Tetrick of Cylance Pro Cycling.
