40 per cent leap in bookings with cycle tourism operator

Wiggins’ win boosts Sports Tours bookings to France

Multi-sports tour operator, Sports Tours International has told BikeBiz of a boost in sales for its Tour de France hospitality packages following Bradley Wiggins’ success.

The firm offers a variety of Tour de France hospitality and travel packages and has reported a 40 per cent increase on last year in bookings for the final stage of the tour, as more Brits flocked to see Wiggins crowned the 2012 Champion.

Head of commercial Brendan Fox said: “The whole country is getting behind Wiggins and his success in the tour so far has been fantastic for cycling. We have been in-undated with bookings over the last few weeks with everyone wanting to be there to hopefully watch Wiggins cross the finish line and claim his victory. He has done so well over the last few weeks and deserves the Champion title.”
