Virtual velodrome tour online ahead of London Olympics

The London 2012 website now has a frequently refreshed 360-degree tour of the velodrome’s build in progress, seen here.

The tour contains snippets of information relating to the build and its progress, which can be accessed by scrolling over the highlighted pink circles.

Around 48,000 cubic metres of material was excavated in order for work to begin on the build, which is said to be made up of 2,500 sections of steelwork.

The velodrome will hold 6,000 seats.
