Vietnam-made bikes to go duty free

A news story on VOV, the Vietnamese national radio broadcaster claims that the European Commission has announced it will end imposition of anti-dumping duties on Vietnamese bicycles this month

The duty, imposed on Vietnamese-made bicycles since July, 2005, will expire on July 15th.

Citing the EC Directorate General for Trade, VOV said
the lifting of taxes of around 34.5 percent will be officially announced soon.

VOV said the move would "benefit both European consumers and Vietnamese bicycle exporters."

Vietnamese trade agencies have been lobbying hard to remove the duties.
