Updated: Recall issued on SRAM hydraulic road calipers

SRAM has issued a recall on its Hydro road brakes, with both the rim and disc calipers affected, according to Bike Radar.

Should you be concerned that you have or have stock of a faulty unit, serial numbers are located on the brake caliper, as well as on the outside of the original packaging – though both OEM and aftermarket units are believed to be involved. No failures in the field are belieed to have happened thus far, the recall has been issued, alongside the US CPSC, as a precautionary measure. Sram are also working with European consumer administrations.

Red 22 and S-700 Hydro Road Rim and Disc brake systems with serial numbers between 36T30993767 to 42T39407156 are involved in the voluntary recall. SRAM believes only around 500 units worldwide could be affected.
