Marcus Storck opens UK concept stores

Two Storck concept stores open in UK

Marcus Storck, founder and head designer for Storck Bicycles of Germany, was in the UK last week to open the two new Storck concept stores. He’s seen in the pic above (left) with Ian Hughes.

Hughes, former GM of Scott in the UK, runs the northern store; Posh Bikes is operating the southern one.

Both stores have showrooms exhibiting the latest 2012 Storck road, mountain, city and electric bikes and offer full sales and technical support.

The Maidstone store becomes the HQ of Storck Bicycle UK, operated by Posh Bikes, the Storck distributor for road and MTB. The second store is located at Gateshead and is the HQ of Storck Raddar UK, distributor for Storck city and Raddar electric bikes.

Storck has 15 concept stores globally.

Markus Storck said: “The UK has huge potential for this type of store. It makes perfect sense to offer customers the highest level of service for our bikes and product. This is the way forward and will enhance our brand.”

Storck Bicycle UK has been distributing Storck road bikes and MTBs for ten years and has 13 dealers in the UK.

Storck Raddar UK started trading in May 2011 and currently supplies 26 stockists. The showroom – seen above – overlooks the River Tyne. The firm is run by Ian Hughes, the former general manager of Scott USA in the UK. Hughes – a former radio presenter – introduces this video of the Storck Raddar:
