But not all of the newly interactive site is packed with info. Folks interested in the East Midlands stage get a minute by minute schedule, the other stages - including the crit in Westminster - are left blank. Ooh, the anticipation...

Tour of Britain website updated with sprint and stage finish info

The site has a password-protected area for race officials and team managers containing, it is promised, PDFs of route maps and race information.

However, it’s only the East Midlands stage, third in the five-day race, that is fleshed out for all to see.

There’s King of the Mountains points up for grabs at Wirksworth at 11am. Spectators who want to see the first sprint of the day should head for Duffield at 11.55am. And those who want to mingle with riders from US Postal, T-Mobile and other team, could congregate at the signing-on point at 10am at the Bakewell Agricultural Centre.

However, there’s no blow by blow info on the other stages as yet. This will follow, and BikeBiz.com will keep pressing the refresh button on your behalf.

What’s now known for sure are the stage towns: Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham, Newport and London.

The Westmister crit will be 45 laps around Whitehall, including Northumberland Avenue, and the Embankment.
