Bike Back Derby project mechanic – Life Cycle UK

A really exciting opportunity for a full-time bicycle mechanic to join Life Cycle UK’s growing team in Derby. Our successful bicycle refurbishment project, Bike Back Derby is going form strength-to-strength and we are seeking a skilled mechanic to help us take our operations to the next level. Bike Back Derby works in partnership with the prison service to refurbish bicycles. We are seeking an excellent bicycle mechanic with ambition and drive to run our refurbishment programme.  You will have great mechanic skills, work well with a wide range of people including volunteers and prisoners, and be able to organise and maintain a well-equipped workshop. You will have a good understanding of health and safety issues, be able to cope with a busy working environment and getting jobs done on time to a high standard.

Senior mechanic – The Bike Project

The Bike Project is a fun, interesting and supportive place. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced mechanic to work within our small team to help manage and oversee the day-to-day operations in our West Midlands workshop. We particularly encourage applications from women, disabled, and black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates, and those who have personal experience of being a refugee. The Bike Project is a living wage accredited employer. The primary purpose of this role is to manage the workshop and carry out maintenance and repair of all cycles donated to the charity with the purpose to a) meet the growing need that our beneficiaries have for bikes and b) to ensure a healthy ongoing stock of good quality used bikes to facilitate the growth of second-hand cycle sales.

In this dual role of social media executive and copywriter, you will be spending your time writing impactful and insightful copy for our varied sports catalogue, consisting of cycling, triathlon and running products and managing social media channels for two new brands. You will be responsible for implementing social media strategies to kickstart and grow two brands, as well as planning, curating and creating engaging content. You must be a self-starter with a solid experience in engaging existing and new audiences across social and digital channels.
