Time Inc. UK has today announced that Sean Igoe has been appointed head of market for its cycling group, where he will lead commercial operations for Cycling Weekly, Mountain Bike Rider, and UK Cycling Events (UKCE).
Igoe joins Time Inc. UK from Dennis Publishing where he was commercial director for Cyclist and Bikes Etc. In 2012, he was part of the Cyclist launch team and took the title to 38 per cent print market share in 2015, he also played a lead role in launching sister title Bikes Etc, the Cyclist website and Cyclist Demo Day events. Prior to this, Igoe worked at Factory Media and Future Publishing.
Steve Prentice, managing director of Time Inc. UK’s cycling group says: “I’m delighted Sean is joining us at this exciting time for our cycling brands; his first-class relationships will ensure we can deliver the best solutions for customers."
“This year, we’ve seen insanely strong digital growth, and we want to continue that. We see no reason why that would slow down," Prentice told BikeBiz. "We’ve also integrated our Cycling Weekly portfolio with the UK cycling events, so now it’s fair to say that we’re the only media business that has both a digital content business and an experiential business in cycling. We’ve brought Sean across to knit that together, which is really important to us.”
Igoe adds: “I’m very proud to be joining Time Inc. UK. They have become a major player in the global cycling market in the last couple of years with a real focus on digital growth, video and events, all of which are hugely important to brands and retailers alike. I look forward to being out in the market again and forging some great partnerships over the coming years.”
Igoe takes up his new role with immediate effect.
