"The vibrator has an on/off switch so that it may be turned on periodically by the rider to improve the comfort of the bicycle saddle," says Turudich in his patent application, granted February this year.
"When the vibrator is energized, its vibration causes the shell and therefore the bicycle seat to vibrate."
His previous saddle patent was for a comfort saddle, one of thousands filed with the US Patents Office since bicycles were first invented.
