Free bike shop distribution model hits North America followed by new website launch

The Albion BMX magazine launches in USA and Canada

BMX magazine The Albion is to launch imminently in the USA and Canada, making it the first BMX title to be offered free of charge in North America.

The bike shop distributed title will carry the same editorial as the UK edition and will be available to stores through the likes of Sparky’s Distribution, Odyssey, Empire, Animal, S&M, Dans Comp and many others.

The publisher told BikeBiz: "This will be the first time anyone there will be able to get a copy of The Albion for free. We are shipping this week from Liverpool to New York City where it will be sent to participating distros and mailorder stores. We hope to continue to drive kids into BMX shops and selected outlets where scenes are happening rather than convenience stores. The success and support from the BMX industry worldwide has been a major factor in the decision to take the mag to the America."

The first issue to become available free stateside is the first issue of volume 2, pictured below.

"This expansion co-incides with the launch of our new website www.thealbion.cc where editorial ideas manifest themselves digitally, as well as on paper, a first for us and a step into the void where we hope we can reach out to our brothers and sisters globally. All three Editors will be updating the site regularly so keep your eyes peeled for exclusive content and sign up for our newsletter."
