Gore distributor TGStore has become an authorised repairer of Gore-Tex fabrics, offering the service in-house free-of-charge on all items purchased in its store.
Previously TGStore would direct customers to third-parties for repairs, but following customer feedback, four TGStore staff underwent training to gain the authorised repairer status.
The training involved a visit from a Gore technician who demonstrated repairs on the various types of fabrics used in the manufacture of the products, including Windstopper fabrics, Gore-Tex fabrics, laminated fabrics and the specialised sealing tape used for certain Gore fabrics.
Following repairs, TGStore uses testing product recommended by Gore to ensure the product is still waterproof and lives up to the ‘Guaranteed to keep you Dry’ promise.
A TGStore spokesperson said: “As a stockist of premium products like Gore Bike Wear and Gore Running Wear, we received a lot of feedback and questions on repairing cycling and running clothing, so we decided to invest in the equipment and training to become authorised by WL GORE to carry out repairs for the products we sell. We see this as providing added value to our customers, and it protects their investment in case the worse happens.”
Following the training, the Gore distributor is the only major retailer of Gore Bike Wear and Running Wear to offer in-house repairs, it told BikeBiz.
