Duo have spent a combined 30 years at the retailer

Steve Gill and Dominic Coates move on from Rutland

Steve Gill and Dominic Coates are both to leave retailer Rutland Cycling to start their own business.

Gill has worked at Rutland Cycling for 12 years, starting as a sales manager in 2000 and by 2004 became sales director and shareholder at age 25, due in part to setting up the mall order side of Rutland. Prior to that Gill worked for Halfords. Coates has spent his 18 year long working life at Rutland Cycling in a number of roles, including buyer, shop manager and hire fleet manager.

The duo’s new venture will be a mail order business in the cycle trade initially. Details will be confirmed at a later date.

Gill said: "I have enjoyed the time I have worked at Rutland Cycling very much and made some great friends that I hope to keep in close contact with moving forwards but the time has come to break away and embark on a new project."

The pair will leave Rutland Cycling on December 24th.
