Specialized launches UK-specific B2B website

Specialized’s dealers need passwords and account info to access http://dealer.specializeduk.com but once in the site is content-rich and user-friendly.

"The site has been developed for the UK and will improve our business relationship with our dealers," said Specialized UK’s Richard Hemington.

"The two key elements that surpass any other B2B website is it is the fastest method to find availability on all products, and the exclusive features for Abacus software users.

"As part of our brand development we expect this to become a major part of improving our relationship with our dealers and to allow our dealers a more efficient way of dealing with Specialized."

Features include news on Specialized products; ordering with FOC delivery on bicycles; copies of invoices, credit notes, and statements; a library of product images and logos; and a resource to swap information between Specialized dealers so IBDs can buy or sell out-of–stock products.

Future developments include online-tracking of TNT shipments and the whereabouts and delivery timescale of products ‘on the water.’

Abacus users can upload sales data for stock management purposes and will later be able to upload their purchase orders directly to Specialized’s back-end operating system, as well as using shop-specific part numbers to place orders and view availability and the printing of shop-specific labels and price tickets.
