Consumers encouraged to tell the Olympian what they want for Christmas to win prizes.

Sir Chris(tmas) Hoy stars in Evans’ yuletide ad

We’ve already seen Halfords’ Christmas ad offering for this year, now it’s the turn of Evans Cycles.

A short and sweet video goes live this afternoon, starring Sir Chris Hoy and using the #FATHERCHRIS hashtag, with the Olympian gift wrapping a bike (of course) for Christmas.

Evans is using the vid to launch a consumer competition with a prize fund of over £3,600, encouraging letters or pictures to be sent to #FATHERCHRIS with the best ones winning prizes. Not only can entries be submitted via social media, but also through one of the golden post boxes in Evans Cycles stores.

The campaign will form part of a wider kid’s campaign in the run up to Christmas, from Evans Cycles, titled ‘Real Bikes For Real Riders’.

Evans Cycles marketing manager Gareth Evans said: “Everyone remembers their first bike, so it’s pretty important to make that memory a good one.

"Our Christmas campaign is all about kid’s on ‘proper’ bikes in ‘real riding’ grown-up situations on bikes that really enable them to get the most joy from their riding. Evans Cycles is the number one place to go for children’s bikes this Christmas, with a great range of top-quality kid’s bikes from the likes of HOY, Pinnacle, Specialized, Early Rider and Norco.”
