Cornwall-based road and MTB product distributor Silverfish UK has appointed Matthew Osborne to the role of General Manager.
Osborne joins the Silverfish team with a background in senior management roles across domestic and international markets.
He will be tasked with the day-to-day management of the business allowing company founders Darren and Sarah Mabbott to concentrate on developing Silverfish’s strategic growth plans in the UK and the rest of Europe.
“Matthew completes a new management structure that will allow Silverfish to further grow and expand,” said Mabbott.
“Recent months have seen the recruitment of some key personnel to help drive this growth and Matthew is now here to oversee the expanded team and help drive the business forward.
“We have enjoyed a record breaking year both here in the UK and in Germany where our retailer feedback at Eurobike was outstanding. Now we need to continue this success and build on it for the future."
Osborne is keen to get started and further enhance all aspects of customer service levels. He said: “I’m really excited to be joining Silverfish.
“As a cyclist, I already knew what Silverfish brought to the marketplace with a range of innovative premium brands. I now hope that my operational and commercial experience will help the business further develop these brands and support those dealers we work with even closer.
“Since my arrival I have been struck by the enthusiasm and energy that the team here at Silverfish has for the sport, the brands and the dealers we work with. It is very infectious.”
Silverfish UK distributes a wide selection of products from over twenty brands including such prestigious names as Easton, Yeti, Mondraker, Race Face, Evoc, Ritte, Onza and Spiuk amongst others. The past year has seen the Saltash based company expand operations as well as the number of brands they distribute. BikeBiz had an in-depth chat with co-founder Darren Mabbott earlier this year.
