"Shimano became one of the leading corporations in Japan under his dedicated leadership for last decades," said a press statement from Shimano Europe.
He is survived by wife Aiko, son Yozo and daughter Setsuko. Yozo Shimano is the current president of Shimano Inc.
Shozo Shimano’s funeral was carried out privately at his home in Sakai City, Osaka on June 17th.
Shimano Inc. will hold a memorial ceremony for its past president in July.
