Northern Irish lighting innovators See.Sense. has tied up a deal that will see Chain Reaction carry its product, following on from its successful launch via kickstarter campaign.
Developed by electronics and software engineer Philip McAleese, the product reacts to its environment using sensors, which detect road junctions, roundabouts and changes in light – adjusting its output accordingly, before dimming down to save battery once the cyclist has progressed.
Philip worked with hundreds of cyclists over two years to refine the product, before going into production domestically having run a cost-benefit analysis with Asian suppliers.
See.Sense burst through the ceiling of its Kickstarter campaign with pre-orders of nearly three times its funding target when it closed in November 2013.
McAleese told BikeBiz his team is already working on further products. He said "Prototyping is already underway for one new bike accessory, which has been shortlisted for the INVENT 2014 competition."
