Schwalbe has come good on the rumour that a limited edition ‘London’ tyre line is to launch ahead of the Olympics.
As of May 1st, redesigned versions of the firm’s favourites join the catalogue, most of which are aimed at the commuting cyclist. Some of the firm’s best-selling commuting tyres will be included in the range – The Marathon Plus, The Durano Plus and The Marathon Plus ATB.
In 2013, a tyre dubbed the Big Ben will also appear in the catalogue, though Schwalbe’s german base has allowed for an early showing in the capital on May 1st.
In addition to their usual Schwalbe branding a ‘London’ reflective label flanked by two reverse silhouette images of London landmarks will adorn the sidewalls of their most popular commuting tyres.
The technical specifications of the tyres won’t differ from their standard equivalent, so expect the 5mm blue SmartGuard puncture protection belt to feature.
The product launch will take place at popular London bike workshop/café ‘Look Mum No Hands!’, followed by a cycle tour to Big Ben.
