Petition bounds past 50,000 signatures to stop Government selling off woodland

Save our Forests petition gains momentum

A 38 Degrees petition, aimed at halting Government plans to sell off forest land accross the UK to raise funds, is gathering momentum having gathered more than 50,000 signatures so far.

The petition, found here, is now quickly heading toward the 60,000 signature mark following a string of mentions in national press.

Ancient forests such as Sherwood and the Forest of Dean are said to be at risk of a sell off to private investors. As 38 Degrees points out, once they’re gone, they’re gone forever.
