Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics has broadened its bike range with new low cost bearings designed to suit MTB suspension systems.
Joining the Norglide range, these new composite bearings are suitable for front and rear suspension systems, offering long life without maintenance, minimal ‘stick-slip’, reduced weight and very low friction. The corrosion resistant nature is a boon for rear suspension systems in particular, according to the firm.
Based on materials that Saint-Gobain uses in high volumes over in the automobile industry, the new variants are offered at a lower cost than standard premium bike products. The Norglide range uses fluoropolymer low friction surfaces for lightweight construction combined with long-life performance.
Saint-Gobain is best known for its expertise in front suspension systems. Cane Creek uses Norglide components in its super lightweight AER headset.
