RoadCycling UK launches fantasy Giro d’Italia

While Wiggins is busy plotting how to win the pink jersey in the impending Giro d’Italia, cycle fans will be able to step into the role of directeur sportif courtesy of RoadCyclingUK.

RCUK’s new Fantasy Giro d’Italia has been launched this year following the success of its 2012 Fantasy Tour de France.

Punters will be able to create their dream cycling team for the Giro, picking from the 207 riders set to line-up in Naples on Saturday (May 4th).

This latest edition of the increasingly popular ‘fantasy cycling’ scene will see the winner get a Team Carbon bike worth £1,500 (custom painted to the winner’s design), while the directeur sportif of the teams in second and third will each receive a pair of Team Carbon wheels worth £600. Teams have a €20m budget from which to select nine players, with a maximum of two members from any Giro d’Italia team. Once the race is underway, a maximum of 20 changes are allowed.

RoadCyclingUK’s Fantasy Tour de France will be back in 2013 for the third successive year.
