Clerkenwell hipster highway now has coffee, cake and clothing haven

Rapha Cycle Club opens in London

Rapha opened its ‘Cycle Club’ store at the weekend (Saturday 8th) on Clerkenwell Road in London, a route notoriously busy with cyclists.

The store is a combination of gallery, shop, cafe and a place to view cycle sport in action. The store is to show a full calendar of race events on its in-store TVs.

Rapha founder Simon Mottram told BikeRadar.com: "The inspiration behind all of this is for someone like me who doesn’t really have a place to go to watch the big races like you can with football matches. There’s something really great about watching a stage with 30 or 40 people. I had a big desire to create a space where like-minded people could come together."

The new store is located at 146-148 Clerkenwell Road, EC1. Opening hours are:

Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm
Saturday 10am to 8pm
Sunday 10am to 4pm
