Raleigh takes over UK distribution of Babboe cargo bikes

Raleigh has announced that it is taking on the UK distribution of Babboe Cargo Bikes.

The company launched its own electric cargo bike range Stride last year and said it is excited to take on Babboe too.

From today onwards, a UK specific range of Babboe bikes, accessories and spares will be kept in stock in Raleigh’s Nottingham warehouse with support from local account managers, as well as expert internal warranty and support teams.

Lee Kidger, managing director of Raleigh UK, said: “The pandemic has changed people’s habits and lives forever, consumers are more aware of the need to be more sustainable which is influencing the products and services they purchase.

“Electric cargo bikes offer low cost, sustainable transport for families and businesses, and present a huge opportunity for the UK retailers with the market expected to grow tenfold over the next five years.

“Babboe UK will be available as an extension of Raleigh UK, offering the widest range of Electric Cargo bikes in the UK under one roof.”

The creation of Babboe UK will streamline Raleigh’s operations, offer more support and better availability to retailers, and improve the customer journey, said Raleigh. This is believed to be the right step to continue the success of Babboe alongside Raleigh cargo bikes and facilitate the growth in the years to come.

The business benefits are the key reasons for making this change, said Raleigh, and the company said it trusts that current and future retailers will be happy with this approach.

For all current retailers, orders placed prior to April 2022 will be handled by the team in the Netherlands. All orders processed from April 2022 onwards will be handled by Raleigh UK.

Babboe was founded in the Netherlands in 2005 by a group of parents searching for the ideal, affordable, quality cargo bike. Two years later, they launched the Babboe Big cargo bike, and Babboe is now available in more than 30 countries around the world.
