International Business Award of the year for the East Midlands

Raleigh International scoops Business Award

Out of the five East Midlands counties, Raleigh International has won the International Business Award of the year for the East Midlands. It now goes forward for the Chamber of Commercial National Finals, winners of which will be announced on the evening of the 28th November in London.

Raleigh International has achieved double-digit growth year on year by adherence to a clearly defined strategy aimed at recreating the Empire that Raleigh used to enjoy.

John Macnaughtan (pictured), the Raleigh International managing director, said: “We have taken a different look at international trade from that of being an established, traditional, exporter of UK made products. In it’s hey day Raleigh exported over 70 per cent of its production to over 144 countries, it now produces nothing. So how does one keep alive a brand in the many markets where it was a household name, and do so at a profit? We have shown this in our award submission and emphasised how essential it is to bring the worldliness, that can be very unique in the UK, to overseas markets and not only be welcomed, but actively supported by its customers. To get them to identify with the brand and to feel the same pride in ensuring its continuity is the real way to last and survive on growth”.
