Demand is up for endurance and performance road bikes, the brand reports

Raleigh hails road bike sales growth

Demand for Raleigh’s endurance and performance road bikes increased by almost a quarter at the beginning of 2013, the company revealed.

Raleigh sold 23 per cent more road bikes from its endurance and performance ranges in the first three months of 2013 compared to the same period last year.

Raleigh marketing director Geoff Giddings cited the continued huge demand for road bikes as well as increased consumer appetite for Raleigh’s high spec machines.

He said: "Our new ranges of road bikes are among our best ever and we are delighted demand is on the increase despite the recent adverse weather conditions. We feel we’ve done a excellent job this year of listening to consumers and providing them with superbly specced bikes with an unbeatable price tag.

"Our 2013 endurance bikes, from the entry level Revenio One to the top-of-the-range Revenio Carbon, share our special RE2P (Relaxed Ergonomic Effective Position) geometry and are perfect for all day riding. Our performance range has grown this year to include the carbon frame, Shimano Sora equipped SP Elite, while our flagship model is the incredible Militis, as ridden by our pro cycling team, Team Raleigh."

Raleigh is currently running an offer on eligible road bikes where consumers can redeem a free gift from sports nutrition experts High5 via the Raleigh website. The High5 Race Faster sports nutrition pack (worth £14.99) features a selection High5’s range of sports nutrition drinks, gels and energy bars.

Giddings added: "High5 is one of the leading sports nutrition brands and their products are race proven to have a real effect on speed and endurance. The number of redemptions we’ve had so far shows us that consumers think this is a great offer and that they see value in High 5’s fantastic range of products. We are delighted to be able to offer this great free gift in conjunction with High5 – just one way Raleigh goes the extra mile to make our bikes attractive to consumers."
