The contest spawned the pro riding careers of Tyler Klassen, Matt Hunter and Wayne Goss, .
An expert jury judges all video entries and whittles down the entries to 16. Online voters narrow this down to four riders, then two, then one, the jackpot winner.
The prize is a pro sponsorship contract with Race Face, Giant and Manitou worth over $25 000.
"We’re really excited to be going into our fourth year with the contest," said Race Face’s Marshall Rutman.
"Every year, the contest gains momentum and gets more exciting to watch. Last year, the quality of the
entries was incredible and the online participation level was unreal. This year we’re improving the contest, both for the participants and the viewers by making a couple changes to the contest format."
This year, riders will submit two one minute riding videos in addition to a 30-second lifestyle video.
"I’m stoked on the new format for the contest," said Rutman.
"Not only does it provide more entertainment value for our online community by showing them new videos in each round, it also gives riders more time to showcase the diversity of their skills. It definitely adds a strategic element to
the contest as well. Will riders put their best footage in the first minute to make sure they get into the semi-finals or will they save their best footage for the second one minute video in the hopes of moving from the semis
to the finals?"
