Peugeot creates car with integrated folding e-bike

Peugeot has launched its first foray into the folding e-bike market.

The eF01 is an aluminium-framed folding electric bicycle, which is designed to integrate into the new 5008 SUV model car.

The eF01 electric bike weighs 18.6kg and is fitted with a 208wh battery with enough charge for up to 18-25 miles. The bike has a top speed of 12.5mph.

The bike integrates into the boot space of the 5008 SUV with a mobile charging dock.

To debut the new models, the brand enlisted BMX rider Kriss Kyle for an ad campaign entitled ‘City Slickers’. The advert shows Kyle removing the folding e-bike from the boot charging dock of the 5008 and riding it around the streets of the capital.

Kyle commented: “The eF01 is a fantastic bike to ride – it’s great fun and practical. I was delighted to be a part of this project and I think it’s brilliant that Peugeot has created a solution for the last mile, which means people have the option to drive their car and cycle their bike.”

The eF01 electric bike can be charged on a mobile docking station in 60 minutes and can be folded and unfolded in less than ten seconds.
