The Festival of Cycling at Harewood House in Yorkshire will have a pedal-powered cinema to entertain campers during Grand Depart

Pedal-power will electrify Yorkshire’s Festival of Cycling

Electric Pedals, an event managements company that specialises in human-powered expo equipment, is to provide a pedal-powered cinema for the Festival of Cycling, which will be held 4th-6th July at Harewood House near Leeds. One of the films to be screened will be Bicycle, the documentary.

The Electric Pedals outdoor cinema uses the energy from twenty or more cyclists pedalling. Riders can use their own bicycles, hooked up to bespoke turbo trainers, or can use the bikes supplied by Electric Pedals. Children are encouraged to join in, too.

The Festival of Cycling is a three day cycling festival to be held in Yorkshire as part of the Grand Depart of the Tour de France. The Tour de France passes through the grounds of Harewood House, one of the great houses of England, during stage one of the Tour, the Saturday stage from Leeds to Harrogate.

The festival will also offer led rides to watch the race from the best vantage points on both stages one and two in Yorkshire. The Big Sleep in the grounds of Harewood House will offer camping facilities. An expo will also be staged as part of the event.

Rides available from the festival site will include sportives, a women-only Cycletta, and kids’ events. Harewood House will also be home to VIP hospitality for corporate guests and individuals.
