Pashley launch new TVSeries frames at Bike 2003

Pashley has launched two new trials frames, retailing for £345 and £445.

The £445 frame is the update to Pashley’s 26Mhz trials frame and has been designed by top trials rider, Matt Tongue, the person who talked Pashley MD Adrian Williams to get into trials frame production in the first place.

The Tongue frame is made from Reynolds 853 and 725 custom tubing, commissioned by Pashley. It has a super-strong chainstay-to-BB machined-fixing that allows rear wheel and chain wheel to be fixed close in.

A ‘flying’ seat stay strut replaces the seat tube and is said to reduce rear triangle distortion during braking. The frame also has a new replaceable rear mech hanger with trials dimensions to give maximum chain wrap.

Tongue said: “Pashley’s 26Mhz Trials frame, which my brother Ed and I rode, was the best in its time, so it has been a challenge to re-tune the design in line with current thinking and practice.”

The £345 frame, called the Fortress, has been designed by Pashley rider Kye Forte.

It is made from specially-commissioned Reynolds 725 custom tubing. It has a built-in seat clamp and chain tensioner. Pashley says it has a unique fixing and actuation system which accepts a standard AD99 brake and it also has a slimline drop-out with 14mm or 10mm axle adjusters. The Fortress, a Kye Forte signature frame, also has an ‘A’-frame seat stay configuration for stiffness, a wrap-around top-tube gusset and a European BB.

Kye said: “Pashley have listened to my ideas and come through with a frame that is sick!As well as being innovative it does not stray too far from the BMX ethos. It is totally what I like and what I always wanted."

Both frames are hand-built in the UK.
