Paligap has announced it will soon be able to supply the Silca Pump brand to the UK market.
The range includes classic items like the Pista and Super Pista tracks pumps, of which Paligap will carry the complete range of spares and service parts. New lines include the light weight Eolo Co2 cartridge regulator and matching 16gr Co2 cartridges. There is also a select range of retro frame fit Pumps, mini pumps and accessories including bottle cages and bar tape.
Felice Sacchi founded Silca in 1917 in a country torn apart by World War One, little did he know that his company would not only still be going strong in the next millennium, but that it would also still be run by his family, in this case his grandson, Claudio Sacchi. Silca claims to be the oldest company in the cycling industry to be continuously run by a single family.
“There is a great story to tell with Silca. The longevity of the family business and the quality of the product line, fits with the profile of the new categories of business that we are looking at. This is evident in the number of UK consumers that contact Claudio every week looking for replacement parts for their classic Pista Pumps that they are still using from many years ago. As well as new customers to Silca, it is these customers that we want to have come into their local store and service their old favourite classic track pump,” said Blair Morgan, product manager for parts and accessories at Paligap.
