10 per cent discount on ticket prices and Powerbar pack offered for rest of November for riders

Ordnance Survey becomes mapping partner for UK Cycling Events

Ordnance Survey and UK Cycling Events have partnered to launch a brand new sportive series.

To be known as the Ordnance Survey Spin Series, the ride calendar will offer events all over the UK beginning in early 2015.

Following on from Britain’s national mapping agency’s sponsorship of this year’s Tour of Britain and the release of its free cycling apps (OS Ride the Tour and OS Ride), the new series launch is being celebrated with a ten per cent discount on all ticket prices. These will be offered until the 1 December 2014, with all riders receiving a free PowerBar nutrition pack worth £10.

Gareth Miller, head of group marketing at Ordnance Survey, said: “The Ordnance Survey Spin Series kicks off the 2015 cycling season with a fantastic selection of rides that continue right through to spring. Our partnership with UK Cycling Events further cements OS’s commitment to cycling and providing cyclists with the best online, mobile and paper map route information. There is nothing better than an OS map if you want to know exactly what is in store when you set off on your bike.”

Martin Barden, UK Cycling Events Ltd, added: “We are delighted to be launching the Ordnance Survey Spin Series. It’s very exciting for us to be able to bring the cycling season forward, enabling riders the opportunity to continue riding sportives throughout winter and into spring. It’ll present riders with a different, but highly rewarding challenge. The events will also be a good introduction to our cycling events and should be appeal to people who have made improving their fitness levels one of their New Year’s resolutions."
